Beauty is pain: 'Wayne Rooney' undergoes a painful hair transplant, as imagined by artist Alison Jackson
Gritting his teeth and closing his eyes, Wayne Rooney grimaces in pain as a doctor injects his forehead.
His head is covered in specks of blood as follicles of hair are planted into his scalp to create a new hairline.
This is how artist Alison Jackson imagines the star footballer's eight-hour hair transplant went, anyway.
Recovering: Wayne exposed his new hairline on holiday in Barbados
Jackson has created this spoof of the Manchester United player's £12,000 procedure at a Harley Street clinic last week.
The fake Rooney, wearing hospital scrubs, is an absolute doppelgänger for the footballer, fooling many fans at first glance.
Alison Jackson is well known for her parody pictures of the Royal family, and celebrities like David and Victoria Beckham, Elton John and Cheryl Cole.
New 'do: Wayne paid £12,000 to rid himself of his receding hairline
Wayne revealed he had undergone the procedure as he prepared to fly out to his holiday home in Barbados to recover.
He tweeted: 'Just to confirm to all my followers I have had a hair transplant. I was going bald at 25 why not. I'm delighted with the result.'
'It's still a bit bruised and swollen when it dies down u will be first to see it. Anyone recommend any good hair gel. Haha.
