While Grazia Daily spent the weekend in a shlumping around in jeans and a T-shirt at the Isle of Wight festival,Kate Middleton has spent the weekend sporting enough show-stopping outfits to ensure that the delicate balance between time and fashion is maintained for the rest of us. Well, phew for that!
After last Thursday night's showstopping Jenny Packham number, Saturday morning saw Kate attend Trooping The Colour (the Queen’s official birthday celebrations) for the first time, and she chose an ivory Alexander McQueen double-breasted coat with a gathered tail - much like the train of her wedding dress – for the occasion. Yay! More McQueen! This is, of course, the first time Kate has worn McQueen since her wedding day.... >wistful<
Later on Saturday Kate popped to the wedding of her and Wills’ mate Sam Waley-Cohen, the man credited with getting William and Kate back together after their split in 2007 - and she appeared to don a whole new outfit for the occasion (or did she just remove the coat? You decide). Interestingly, or perhaps not interestingly at all, Kate wore a black and white monochrome patterned dress that she was last spotted in waaaay back in 2007 (which was during the time she and Wills were non-coupled) for the occasion, pictured above right with her sister Pippa. Katepaired both the wedding outfit and Trooping The Colour ensemble with black suede courts by L K Bennett and a large black I-can't-believe-it's-not-a-hat, aka a giant fascinator.
Sunday saw Kate attend the 90th Birthday celebrations of Prince Philip at Windsor castle, and for this she sported the blue Zara dress she wore the morning after her wedding, along with a pair of nude L K Bennett platform courts and a cornflower blue jacquard frock coat, which she was first spotted in at a wedding in 2009 (above right) and is beliiiiieved to have been made by a mid-naughties label called ‘Pocket Venus’, headed by designer Jane Troughton, which has since closed. Boo. If you like that sort of thing.
So what thinkest you of Kate’s weekend attire? Which outfit is your favourite Middleton number from the past three days? And can you guess which one has got Grazia Daily all excited? (Course you can).
